Compliance Nurse 2 - Long-Term Care Unit

Georgia Department of Community Health is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Compliance Nurse 2 within the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division. This role involves conducting on-site surveys and documenting findings with potential regional travel requirements. An essential aspect of this job is ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations in long-term care facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance Review and Evaluation: Review and ensure compliance with program policies and evaluate complex medical situations to prepare survey documents.
  • Leadership and Quality Assurance: Lead nursing activities in assigned facilities, monitor quality of nursing care in various healthcare settings, and provide staff development and training.
  • Survey Planning and Reporting: Plan and organize surveys based on facility specifics, compile reports on findings and deficiencies, and recommend actions based on survey results.
  • Regulatory Knowledge and Coordination: Stay updated with regulatory standards, coordinate activities with relevant agencies, and assist in training new surveyors.
  • Team Leadership and Support: Act as a team lead when necessary and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree in nursing or a related field, along with experience in an administrative or supervisory role. A valid Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license is required. Possession of a valid Georgia driver's license is also mandatory for this position.

Note: Certifications or licensures may be necessary for specific roles. Additionally, successful completion of preparatory training, including the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test, is required within the first year of employment. This position entails significant statewide travel and occasional weekend work.
