Position Overview: Compliance Nurse 2 - Long-Term Care Unit

The Georgia Department of Community Health is seeking a skilled professional to assume the role of Compliance Nurse 2 within the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division. This position entails performing on-site evaluations and documenting observations, with potential travel across the region. A critical function of this role is to guarantee adherence to both state and federal regulations within long-term care establishments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and verify compliance with established program guidelines
  • Analyze intricate medical scenarios and prepare survey documentation
  • Oversee nursing operations in designated facilities
  • Evaluate the quality of nursing services across various healthcare environments
  • Facilitate staff training and professional development
  • Design and organize surveys tailored to specific facility needs
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing findings and areas of concern
  • Advise on necessary actions based on survey outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with relevant agencies to coordinate activities
  • Support the training of new survey personnel
  • Stay informed on federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities
  • Assume leadership responsibilities as needed
  • Execute additional assigned tasks as required

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in nursing or a related discipline, coupled with experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity. A valid Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license is essential. Additionally, a valid Georgia driver's license is required for this role.

Note: Certain certifications or licenses may be necessary for specific positions. Furthermore, successful completion of preparatory training, including the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test, is mandatory within the first year of employment. This role involves significant travel throughout the state and may require occasional weekend work.
