Position Overview:


We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to take on the role of Regulatory Compliance Nurse Specialist. This position is crucial for ensuring our healthcare organization adheres to all necessary federal, state, and accreditation guidelines.

The successful candidate will significantly contribute to enhancing patient care quality by overseeing regulatory obligations, engaging in audits, and executing necessary corrective measures.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Evaluate and ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory agency standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

2. Work collaboratively with department heads to align policies and procedures with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

3. Participate in both internal and external audits and assessments to evaluate compliance and pinpoint areas needing improvement.

4. Create and implement strategies to rectify any deficiencies identified during audits or inspections.


5. Provide training and education to staff regarding accreditation standards, regulatory changes, and best practices in patient safety and quality care.

6. Assist in preparing necessary documentation and reports for accreditation and regulatory submissions.

7. Stay informed about updates in regulations and accreditation standards to maintain ongoing compliance.

8. Act as a resource for both clinical and non-clinical personnel concerning regulatory requirements and accreditation processes.

Must-Haves:

Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the healthcare sector, including at least 1 year of direct involvement in accreditation, compliance, or quality improvement.


Licensure:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.

Knowledge:
Familiarity with federal, state, and regulatory agency standards, particularly The Joint Commission (TJC) and CMS regulations.

Nice-to-Haves:

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Experience with quality improvement initiatives and knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP).

Qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex regulatory guidelines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments and the ability to influence change.

High attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems.
