Position Overview

DPR Construction is in search of a skilled MEP Project Coordinator with 2-5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within the commercial construction sector.

The MEP Project Coordinator will engage in various commercial initiatives across our primary sectors:
Healthcare, Higher Education, Advanced Technology, Life Sciences, and Commercial.

This role requires close collaboration with all project team members and encompasses the following responsibilities:

  • Offering construction assistance for MEP systems
  • Implementing and adhering to DPR's Environmental Health and Safety Plan to ensure consistently safe work environments, including conducting weekly safety audits
  • Understanding and enforcing agreements between DPR and subcontractors, as well as DPR and other stakeholders
  • Supporting the Superintendent and Project Manager in the application of DPR's policies and project execution
  • Coordinating the responsibilities of other Engineers, Field Office Coordinators, Project Accountants, and additional project personnel, providing guidance and prioritization
  • Participating in training sessions and company meetings to promote both individual and organizational development
  • Organizing and digitally archiving project documentation for easy access by the project team
  • Preparing, monitoring, and updating project timelines, collaborating with the Superintendent to mitigate project constraints' effects on the schedule
  • Creating, maintaining, and implementing various document control tools such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-built documents, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs
  • Distributing updated drawings, modifications, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other pertinent project information to all relevant parties
  • Preparing agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and action items for various meetings, including Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings
  • Monitoring testing and inspection records and reports, safety inspection and accident logs, and building permit inspections and approvals
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
  • Organized work style with the flexibility to adapt to the project's evolving needs
  • Thorough knowledge of assigned project scopes with a hands-on approach
  • A proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving construction challenges that arise during design and construction phases
  • A goal-oriented mindset to effectively coordinate and address project issues within the team (interfacing with Designers, Engineers, and Owners)
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and tackle complex challenges
  • Effective participation in a collaborative team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC, Prolog or similar), scheduling software (Primavera or similar), and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or similar)
  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, ideally within DPR's core sectors
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • A strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a passion for the construction industry
