Portland Oregon, United States UCP Oregon Full time
Are you dedicated to fostering meaningful change and positively impacting the lives of families?

If so, UCP Oregon has an exciting opportunity for you as a Coordinator of Family Support Services. UCP Oregon is recognized as one of the leading non-profit organizations in the state, committed to supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Our mission is to empower children and adults to lead fulfilling lives, offering a range of services including independent living assistance, employment support, and case management for adults, as well as tailored support and skills training for children. We also provide families with vital resources, community connections, enjoyable outings, and respite care.

Since its inception in the 1980s, UCP Family Support has been dedicated to assisting families raising children with cerebral palsy and similar disabilities. Our goal is to help these families build support networks and find stability.

The Coordinator of Family Support Services plays a crucial role in connecting parents with one another and organizing essential activities such as monthly support groups, family outings, training sessions, and a biennial Family Support Conference.

Additionally, we offer unique services like Respitality and Date Night, providing parents with opportunities for relaxation and respite from their daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome new families by providing them with essential resources and information about early intervention and developmental disability services.
  • Maintain regular communication with families to assist them in navigating in-home support options and training resources.
  • Plan and execute events for families, including support groups, outings, and training sessions.
  • Engage in advocacy efforts to enhance services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Collaborate with other family organizations to stay informed about available resources and legislative developments.
  • Prepare grant proposals and documentation in line with funding requirements.
  • Represent UCP Family Support at conferences and share information about our services with community stakeholders.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the Family Support Conference, including logistics, speaker coordination, and volunteer management.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess an associate's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience in developmental disabilities, social services, education, or a related field. Strong organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a commitment to serving diverse communities are essential.

Experience with event planning and a background in non-profit work are preferred. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and have a reliable vehicle.

Benefits:

We offer competitive hourly wages, comprehensive health coverage, paid time off, and a supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusion.

UCP Oregon is an Equal Opportunity Employer, actively seeking applicants from diverse backgrounds. We encourage individuals from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disability communities to apply.
