Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and capable child welfare professional to serve as our Family Parenting Support Advocate. This role provides direct service to clients, leading six month long cohorts for Parenting in 2 Worlds workshops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate two or more Parenting in 2 Worlds cohorts per year, recruiting and enrolling participants, and organizing and leading weekly workshops.
  • Network with community partners and the Department of Human Services to build relationships and recruit program participants.
  • Manage a caseload of 10-12 families for six months after the workshops end, conducting home visits and maintaining regular contact by calling and texting.
  • Coordinate with ODHS caseworkers to provide more intensive services to support families, potentially preventing child removal.
  • Complete daily data entry and maintain case files in accordance with program procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and afford all clients dignity and respect.
Requirements
  • Child welfare or social services experience, with a caseload management background.
  • Two years of experience in child welfare, with knowledge of ODHS services.
  • Lived or work experience in the Native community, with a working knowledge of ICWA.
  • Experience facilitating and leading trainings, with a calm and composed demeanor.
  • Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days.
  • A valid Oregon or Washington driver's license, with a clean driving record.

This is a full-time role with work hours of 9 am to 6 pm, with a one hour unpaid lunch. The role reports to Elisha Big Back, Foster Care Services Manager.

Pay is $24/hour, equivalent to $50,000/year.
