Compensation:

Pay Rate: $130,000 to $180,000

Position Summary:

The Water/Wastewater Engineering Manager serves as the primary technical representative for the facility. This role involves overseeing a technical team that conducts process engineering and provides process control expertise to support plant operations and maintenance.

The manager leads capital project initiatives and ensures effective coordination with client Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). This position is crucial for maintaining optimal plant performance and compliance with water quality standards through the development and execution of process control management systems and asset management strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze plant operating data to assess current conditions and drive improvements.
  • Strive for optimal plant performance, efficiency, and compliance with water quality regulations.
  • Issue process control orders (PCOs) to guide operations staff in maintaining water quality.
  • Prepare routine performance reports detailing treatment outcomes, production metrics, and cost analyses.
  • Maintain and update the process control data management system.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage the authorization approval request (AARF) process, ensuring thorough development and completion.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for proposed projects.
  • Review and provide feedback on reports and plans from external consultants.
  • Coordinate with engineers, operations, maintenance, and contractors on CIP initiatives.
  • Evaluate and enhance operational procedures to improve plant performance.
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects and research initiatives as needed.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and prepare daily progress reports.
  • Develop training programs and materials for staff development.
  • Support the asset management program and contribute to annual budgeting processes.
  • Maintain effective communication with all organizational levels and client representatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and related equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills for data normalization and performance optimization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

Certifications:
  • California Professional Engineering License is preferred.
  • Water or Wastewater Treatment Certification, Grade 2 or higher is preferred.
  • Valid California Driver's License is required.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, walking, climbing, and performing detailed analytical procedures. Specific vision abilities are necessary for this role.
