POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Patient Registration Coordinator is essential in managing patient interactions, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of our healthcare facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and assist patients, clients, and visitors with professionalism, identifying their needs and directing them appropriately.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and manage the scheduling process to optimize service delivery.
  • Update patient demographic information and inform them about necessary documentation for their visits.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, reports, and correspondence.
  • Conduct patient interviews to complete insurance and privacy documentation.
  • Process insurance co-payments and accurately record payment information.
  • Oversee patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to physicians.
  • Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to security protocols regarding protected health information (PHI).
  • Assist in managing daily patient flow as required.
  • Verify patient identity through established identification procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and compliant work environment.
  • Communicate pertinent observations regarding patient status to the nursing staff.
  • Manage the procurement of medical supplies based on departmental needs.
  • Be adaptable to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
  • Engage in departmental meetings, contributing insights and knowledge.
  • Arrive on time and uphold professionalism in all patient interactions.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and limit personal discussions in patient areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to foster teamwork.
  • Review medical records and follow up on missing results before patient appointments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills.
  • Experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the medical field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
