The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably at least three year of recent customer service experience.

Must be able to work a shift to include: 7am-7pm, 7am - 3pm and 3p-11pm including rotating weekends and holidays

SUMMARY

Coordinates and schedules patient appointments.

Scope Impacts patient care services.

Schedules provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.

Prepares and maintains daily appointment templates and/or patient records in One Connect.

Communicates all pertinent information to families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas.

Prepares patient materials and documentation according to established procedures.

Collects co-payments and validates patient insurance and demographics.

Updates payment and patient information Reconciles One Connect cash drawer on a daily basis.

Performs validation of the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ).

Ensures coordination of benefits and assignment of Hospital Account Record (HAR).

Follows standard operating procedures for institution and center.

Protects the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Patient Interaction

Greet, orient and answer questions.

AdVise patients and family members of available services.

Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, co-workers, and visitors.

Customer Service

Demonstrates an understanding of the impact their customer interactions will have in developing positive impressions.

Demonstrates excellent customer service to all internal customers through consistent use of customer service standards.

Communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams

Act as a front line representative, using appropriate communication skills while discharging responsibilities whether in person or by phone.

Communicate pertinent information regarding appointments, scheduling, and necessary preparations to patients, families, physicians, team members and other patient care areas whether in person, by phone, or electronically.

Record Maintenance

Record & maintain reports/data, etc. to support operational activities.

Maintain security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Handle and process complex and varied documents and situations.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Education Preferred: Associate's degree in Business, Health Services Administration or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Three years of relevant work experience. May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis.

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
