Job Summary

Stanford University is seeking a highly skilled and organized Student and Postdoctoral Affairs Manager to join our Biochemistry Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our Biochemistry PhD and Postdoctoral programs, providing exceptional support to students and postdoctoral fellows, and ensuring the smooth operation of departmental student services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Biochemistry PhD and Postdoctoral programs, including budgeting, financial planning, and program evaluation.
  • Provide exceptional support to students and postdoctoral fellows, including advising, counseling, and career development.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with university and departmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote a positive and inclusive departmental environment.
  • Manage departmental events, including the Prospective Graduate Admissions Interview Session and Incoming Graduate Orientation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external units within the Medical School and University.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with students and postdoctoral fellows.
  • Experience with Visa Services/Processes.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with occasional evening and weekend hours.
