Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing instructional and behavioral support to students referred to in-school suspension by the school principal or assistant principal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate instructional activities with classroom teachers to ensure students referred to in-school suspension receive academic support.
  • Monitor students' regular academic work while in in-school suspension and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Work with the school team to implement procedures that promote positive student behavior, safety, and social-emotional learning.
  • Keep accurate documentation and records of student data, including behavior incidents and progress.
  • Collaborate with S-Teams to develop and implement behavior modification plans for students.
  • Provide tutorial assistance to students assigned to in-school suspension and assign special projects related to their infractions.
  • Communicate with parents regarding students' conduct and provide them with behavior modification plans.
  • Participate in school and district training to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with behavioral challenges.
  • Monitor student progress following their return to the regular classroom and make recommendations for continued support.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or two years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of experience working with urban and/or disadvantaged youth.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
