Clinical Benefits Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Benefits Specialist to join our team at Optum. As a Clinical Benefits Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care and benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care Coordination: Work directly with patients to identify their specific needs and recommend adjustments to their plan of care.
- Benefits Education: Explain medical benefits/coverage specifics to patients and provide education on the appropriate utilization of services.
- Preferred Provider Facilitation: Assist patients in understanding their medical benefits and help them make informed decisions about their care.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately document patient information and maintain accurate records.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience working in a healthcare role, with 1+ year of experience working with medical insurance.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in basic medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Bilingual Fluency: Bilingual fluency in English/Mandarin or English/Cantonese.
- Managed Care Experience: Understanding of managed care practices and contract provisions.
