As a Field Application Specialist, you'll play a critical role in driving our mission forward by providing technical and sales support to clinical laboratories, transfusion medicine teams, and automation sales within a designated geographic territory or list of named accounts.

As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Maximizing customer retention rates by ensuring customer satisfaction, executing pre-defined customer touch point/call plans, leading customer training, anticipating and defending against competitive threats, and leveraging strategic selling frameworks.
  • Proactively teaming with Customer Experience Managers and Health System Executives to identify and close menu expansion opportunities.
  • Aligning with CEMs and HSEs to execute strategic plans that prioritize, retain, and expand current clinical laboratory and transfusion medicine accounts.
  • Driving efficient implementation of new products through deep product knowledge and execution of optimal, standardized Ortho processes.
  • Participating in troubleshooting and re-training to address customer issues, as necessary, and working with internal Ortho resources and customers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Optimizing customer laboratory configuration and operation through proactive consulting and troubleshooting customer touch points.
  • Collaborating with CEMs to retain and expand menu, and teaming with HSEs to execute HSE-led IDN strategies, as applicable.
  • Providing timely and accurate updates on lab activity, account updates, and other reports via CRM systems, and collaborating with Marketing to identify opportunities for equipment placement in CRM environments.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with Medical Technology certification or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, transfusion medicine, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid Clinical Chemistry market knowledge for understanding market forces impacting the business.
  • Ability to deliver results while working in a highly independent and fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficient at uncovering key business issues and providing insightful, actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid US driver's license in good standing.
