Position Summary:
In the role of Senior EHS Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in steering safety initiatives, guiding a diverse team through exemplary strategies, programs, and processes at our primary site. You will be instrumental in promoting our Culture of Zero, focusing on the development, implementation, and enforcement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) protocols. Your primary objective will be to ensure adherence to regulatory and corporate standards while minimizing EH&S risks to the organization, its personnel, the environment, and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and foster collaboration on environmental, safety, and health issues across the primary site, supervising EHS professionals.
  • Design, implement, and uphold comprehensive EH&S protocols in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Conduct audits and monitor operations to ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Educate and train team members on EH&S policies and safety principles, ensuring comprehensive understanding and compliance throughout the workforce.
  • Oversee the execution of safe work practices, perform EHS audits/inspections, and spearhead safety initiatives based on identified budgets to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Manage contractor safety, ensuring that all external partners comply with Southwire's EHS standards.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, formulate injury prevention strategies, and implement corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Maintain effective communication with the EHS Director, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on EHS performance.
  • Promote continuous improvement in EHS practices, nurturing a culture focused on zero safety and environmental incidents.
  • Provide expert guidance on risk-related matters, including ergonomics, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental concerns, incident investigations, business resilience, and occupational health processes.
