Rockbridge Area Community Services is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill the position of School Intervention Specialist. This role involves providing direct behavioral interventions, therapeutic activities, and psychoeducational treatment to children and adolescents in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities- Implement behavioral interventions and therapeutic activities for children and adolescents with mental, behavioral, or emotional illnesses.
- Provide case coordination and documentation, as well as consultation and education to school administrators and staff.
- Engage in psychotherapeutic activities and provide behavioral support to children and adolescents in a school setting.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral health and mental health treatment.
- Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field, plus one year of clinical experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting.
- Registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Child (QMHP-C) or Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP Trainee) is preferred.
