Job Summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a Highway Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, including repairing cable guiderail and guardrail, sign repair, litter/debris removal, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reading and interpreting plans and schematics
  • Layout of Highway Guardrail
  • Handling and installing materials for guardrail installation
  • Loading and unloading materials on a flat-bed truck and/or trailer by hand
  • Operation of Post Pounder/Driver Truck
  • Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance
  • Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
  • Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must have construction background/experience
  • Heavy labor experience a plus
  • Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
  • Must be available to work night shift from 7 PM to 5 AM
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy objects
  • Ability to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods of time
