Job Description

Rockbridge Area Community Services is seeking a qualified School Intervention Specialist to provide behavioral interventions, therapeutic activities, and care coordination duties for children and adolescents in our coverage area.

Position Description: The School Intervention Specialist is responsible for the direct implementation of behavioral interventions, therapeutic activities, and psychoeducational treatment for children and adolescents referred by the school administration. These direct services are provided individually or in groups and are offered in the school setting and summer-based program setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide behavioral interventions and therapeutic activities for children and adolescents
  • Coordinate care and services for referred individuals
  • Document case information and maintain accurate records
  • Consult with school administration and other stakeholders as needed

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field plus one year of clinical experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting is required. Registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Child (QMHP-C) or Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP Trainee) is preferred.
