As a leading provider of logistics solutions, Ryder is seeking a talented Supply Chain Engineer to join our Dedicated Transportation Solutions team. This position offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional travel requirements.

Position Overview:

The Supply Chain Engineer will play a critical role in analyzing and implementing continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of experience in lean practices, including but not limited to Kaizen, 5 Whys, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and standard work processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize company methodologies to design and optimize distribution and transportation operations, focusing on staffing, equipment, and layout.
  • Conduct data collection and perform statistical analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Evaluate resource utilization through layout analysis, labor force assessment, and equipment efficiency metrics.
  • Document and map processes, identify gaps, and implement recommendations for improvement.
  • Support business development initiatives by creating efficient designs and solutions.
  • Engage in customer meetings to discuss proposals and foster business growth.
  • Establish performance metrics and optimization tools to measure success.
  • Develop transportation network designs and routing plans using appropriate software tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or supply chain management is required; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A Master's degree in industrial engineering or an MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in supply chain or logistics is required.
  • Experience with data profiling, mining, and statistical analysis is essential.
  • Proficiency in transportation optimization tools, such as Paragon software, is required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of transportation modalities including dedicated, FTL, and LTL.
  • Ability to analyze diverse data sets and apply judgment to derive solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, as well as MS Project and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.

Travel Requirements:

This position may require travel up to 40-60% of the time.
