Ryder System, Inc. - Supply Chain Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Engineer to join our team within the Dedicated Transportation Solutions division. This position offers flexibility with remote work options and requires occasional travel. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of experience in implementing and leading lean methodologies and process improvement techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize company methodologies to design and optimize distribution and transportation operations, including staffing, equipment, and layout.
  • Conduct data collection and perform comprehensive statistical analyses.
  • Analyze resource utilization by evaluating layouts, labor force, and equipment efficiency.
  • Document processes, identify gaps, and implement recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Support business development initiatives by creating efficient design solutions.
  • Engage in customer meetings to discuss proposals and contribute to business growth.
  • Establish performance metrics and optimization tools to measure success.
  • Develop transportation network and routing designs using appropriate software.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of transportation modes (dedicated, FTL, LTL, TM).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate diverse data sets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word), MS Project, AutoCAD, and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with all organizational levels.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or supply chain management is required.
  • A Master’s degree in industrial engineering or an MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in supply chain or logistics.
  • Experience with data profiling, mining, and statistical analysis is essential.
  • Proficiency in transportation optimization tools is required.

Travel Requirements: Up to 40-60% weekly.
