CHEMICAL PROCESS SPECIALIST

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to take on a pivotal role within our organization at our Texas City facility. This position is integral to our Specialty Chemicals Production team and will report directly to the Continuous Process Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Continuous Production Operations Manager and production staff to set annual objectives for production areas.
  • Monitor daily operations and troubleshoot processes to ensure optimal capacity utilization.
  • Evaluate catalyst performance and suggest modifications to operating parameters.
  • Identify and execute projects aimed at cost reduction and long-term operational improvements.
  • Optimize processes to enhance quality while minimizing operational expenses.
  • Conduct ongoing yield improvement and performance assessments to maximize production output.
  • Adhere to capital and fixed budget guidelines for all projects, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
  • Work alongside Process Operators, Engineers, and Supervisors to develop and enhance process control systems.
  • Engage in quality and process improvement initiatives, serving as a representative for relevant projects.
  • Utilize statistical techniques for process optimization to uphold and enhance quality and yield.
  • Contribute to organizational goals by taking initiative and focusing on safety and performance.
  • Enhance organizational capacity through collaboration, optimizing diverse talents, and fostering positive communication.
  • Participate in Safety and Environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations while improving existing initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required to ensure departmental efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with process engineering, troubleshooting, and safety management standards.
  • Ability to respond effectively during emergencies as directed.
  • Capability to evacuate manufacturing areas promptly in case of emergencies.
  • Willingness to use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as walking, climbing, and lifting as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ethical behavior and responsibility.
  • Ability to drive value through informed decision-making and innovative thinking.
  • Valid driver's license for operating onsite vehicles.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills:
  • Five years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proficient in process engineering and safety management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various teams.
  • Ability to identify quality improvement opportunities and develop actionable plans.
  • Willingness to travel as required for training and project needs.
