Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician III will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for complex electronic, electric, and pneumatic controls and instrumentation, as well as interfacing with other crafts to repair and/or install complex control/instrumentation systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, fabricates, and/or installs electronic systems, complex gauges, instrumentation repairs, and new parts, including mechanical and electronic interfaces;
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, adjusts, installs, and programs electronic, electric, and pneumatic controls and instrumentation used to control and measure the performance of boilers, access to buildings, building automation systems, fire protection systems, material handling systems, time management systems, and energy measurement systems;
  • Programs PLC and/or microprocessor-based systems;
  • Calibrates instruments for accuracy, requiring fine tolerances, and recalibrates any instruments or gauges that do not meet the manufacturer's performance specification;
  • Rebuilds instruments when appropriate, including acquiring necessary parts and tools;
  • Assists with data communication design and installations;
  • Maintains time and material records and prepares work reports in accordance with standard operating procedures;
  • Performs inspections and makes recommendations for system upgrades and renovations;
  • Uses computer to access e-mail, receive work instructions, and other administrative information, including electronic payroll forms;
  • Communicates daily using a two-way radio and/or pager system to respond to work-related routine and emergency information;
  • Ensures shop equipment is in proper working condition;
  • Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, uncluttered, and safe work environment;
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent;
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in instrumentation, measurement, and control, electronics, electrical, and/or a mechanical program;
  • Certification as a journeyman in the instrumentation trade and ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CSST) Program Level II in addition to a high school diploma or GED may be substituted for the required education;
  • Experience working in a maintenance department, preferably in an automated food processing plant;
  • Knowledge of equipment set-up, functions, operating procedures, and preventative maintenance techniques;
  • Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
Shift:

3rd (10:00 pm - 6:30 am, must work weekends)
