Maintenance Technician III Job Description

The Maintenance Technician III plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of our facility systems and equipment, including refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, electrical distribution, and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair a wide range of facility systems and equipment, including refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, electrical distribution, and safety systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and coordinate with internal and external resources to ensure efficient system operation.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations, participate in emergency response, and contribute to the facility's operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources for maintenance of the facility, including utilities equipment and systems.
  • Assist in the development of environmental programs required by local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Provide technical analysis and services to provide real-time data on the status of refrigeration and operational equipment.
  • Take a leadership role on the emergency response team in the event of a hazardous chemical release.
  • Maintain boiler cooling tower chemistry to ensure safe and proper boiler operation.
  • Assure the ammonia compressors are operating safely and efficiently to reduce energy consumption.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to maintain good working conditions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing issues.
  • Utilize drawings, technical records, and vendor diagrams to complete Preventative Maintenance documents (PM's) related to machine overhauls and repairs.
  • Handle maintenance emergencies as required.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • State of New Jersey licenses for the operation of hazardous refrigeration and high-pressure steam systems are required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Knowledge of equipment setup, functions, operating procedures, and preventative maintenance techniques is required.
  • Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial utility systems is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practices in maintenance and safety management is required.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures, and HACCP is required.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements as related to plant and utilities systems' operations, safety, and environmental agencies is required.
  • Knowledge of the best available energy management practices and procedures is required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment, is required.
Shift Schedule:

12 hours shift (6:00 pm - 6:00 am)
