Role Overview:
In this position, you will focus on structural engineering design, offering technical support to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. This role presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with in-house engineers, external consultants, and fabrication teams to develop engineering solutions for various pedestrian and vehicular bridge projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design Services: Deliver tailored project-specific design services, concentrating on Contech's bridge offerings. This includes preparing engineering drawings, conducting calculations, and developing project solutions to assist the sales team in integrating our products into site plans.
  2. Structural Analysis: Execute structural analysis and design for bridge components, including superstructures, foundations, and retaining walls.
  3. Collaboration: Work cohesively with in-house engineers, CAD technicians, and the Sales/Marketing team to specify and design Contech's products.
  4. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to the Operations/Manufacturing team to ensure accurate product fabrication.
  5. Communication: Liaise with field sales personnel and the manufacturing team to address inquiries regarding product design, manufacturing, and installation.
  6. Quality Control: Review design outputs from team members to ensure precision and inspect in-house fabrication for compliance with design specifications.
  7. Standards and Training: Uphold engineering standards, policies, and best practices while contributing to the development of training materials for products.
  8. Documentation: Assist in creating technical papers and product literature to support and promote Contech's offerings.
  9. Specification Expertise: Maintain knowledge of governing specifications and participate in the development and modification of these standards.
  10. Professional Development: Stay updated with knowledge and certifications in civil/structural engineering through industry events and continuing education.
  11. Site Visits: Occasionally travel to project sites to provide technical support and evaluations related to product installations.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis. An EIT certification is required, with a PE or eligibility to take the PE exam within one year of hire being strongly preferred. Candidates should have 3-6 years of experience in structural steel or bridge design, though early-career engineers will be considered. Proficiency in MS Office and Excel is required, and experience with AUTOCAD, finite element analysis, and structural analysis software is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to build and maintain effective team and client relationships, are essential. High-level analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are also necessary for success in this role.
