About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Dover Corporation team as a Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift. As a key member of our Environmental Solutions Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance of Production Equipment: Assist with the maintenance of production equipment, including adjusting brakes and/or replacing motors, transformers, contactor cranes and hoists, etc.
  2. Repair of Welding Equipment: Repair welding equipment as necessary, including adjusting or replacing PC boards, transformers, compactors, welding leads, ground cables, wire feeders, etc.
  3. Maintenance of Fabrication Machinery: Maintain fabrication machinery as necessary, including replacing and/or adjusting brakes, shears, drills, saws, torches, punches, etc.
  4. Maintenance of Paint Equipment: Maintain paint equipment as necessary, including repairing paint pumps, high-pressure lines, agitators, and air lines. Clean line filters, etc.
  5. Daily Upkeep of Buildings and Grounds: Maintain daily upkeep of buildings and grounds, including plumbing repairs, filling potholes, adjusting bay doors, etc.
  6. Maintenance of Forklifts: Maintain upkeep of forklifts as necessary, including repairing or replacing tires, rollers, carriages, rear end parts, LP gas, etc.
  7. Preventative Maintenance of Company Vehicles: Perform preventative maintenance duties to company vehicles, including refueling, changing oil, checking tires, washing inside/outside, etc.
  8. Maintenance of Diesel Fuel Pumps and Hydraulic Filter Systems: Maintain upkeep of diesel fuel pumps and hydraulic filter systems.
  9. Repair of Heating/Cooling System: Repair heating/cooling system in office, as necessary.
  10. Repair of Air Compressors: Repair air compressors in plant, as necessary, including draining system, checking oil, draining water, and starting dryers.
  11. Lighting and Thermostat Operation: Light pilots and turn on thermostat for heating system during cold weather.
  12. Maintenance of Cranes and Overhead Hoists: Maintain upkeep of cranes and overhead hoists.
  13. Troubleshooting and Repair of Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical Equipment: Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical equipment, as necessary.
  14. Electrical Control Installation: Build electrical controls for plant, as needed.
  15. Safety and Attendance: Observe all safety regulations and report any unsafe working conditions to department supervisor or management. Attendance at work, including presence at work during regular working hours or other schedule as may be assigned by the department manager, is essential. Acceptance of overtime assignments may also be required in order to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  16. Driving and Maintenance Duties: Occasionally drive company vehicle for parts pickup. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record as defined by Alabama law.
  17. Front Office Maintenance: Occasionally perform maintenance duties in front office, including installing lighting, electrical outlets, computer cable, telephone wiring, etc.
  18. Work Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and order of work area, equipment and tools.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • The ability to understand general arithmetic
  • The ability to write in an understandable manner
  • The ability to understand verbal or written instructions
  • The ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials
  • The ability to use PC-based applications, including Mainstar, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
