Responsibilities
The role involves executing a range of electrical maintenance tasks, focusing on machine wiring and control panel assembly. Collaboration with fellow technicians and engineering teams is essential for the assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting of both new and existing equipment and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, and integrate control systems for machinery, including extruders and associated equipment.
- Source and specify control components from vendors.
- Assist the engineering team with technical drawings and compliance with electrical codes.
- Design mechanical supports and safety guards for control system integration.
- Engage with manufacturing personnel daily to resolve operational and safety challenges related to production machinery.
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
- Familiarity with UL508A, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of the functionality of production machinery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong grasp of electrical principles and mechanical calculations.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Expertise in control system testing and machinery setup.
- Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems integration.
- Completion of college-level coursework in electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Basic training in PLC and Drive systems.
- 10-15 years of experience in electrical systems and controls.
- Ability to lift and transport heavy items, with a capacity to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet.
- Willingness to work specified shifts and maintain mobility for a minimum of 8 continuous hours.
- Capability to operate machinery and supervise others, requiring a valid driver's license.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, performing physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to handle materials regularly, necessitating the use of hands, arms, and legs for transporting finished products.
- Full range of motion is required, including twisting, bending, reaching, and the ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment.
