Job OverviewPosition: CH-47 Maintenance Test Pilot

SUMMARY: Responsible for executing flights and showcasing expertise during standardization flights on rotary wing aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conducts pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight operations in compliance with company and military directives.

2. Performs operational ground checks, taxi checks, and hover checks on rotary wing aircraft; executes functional check flights and assesses the airworthiness of aircraft post-maintenance.

3. Engages in troubleshooting procedures both on the ground and in flight, providing recommendations to ground personnel for rectifying issues.

4. Undertakes recovery and ferry flights as necessary.

5. Trains maintenance staff on aircraft ground run-up and taxi operations to ensure certification readiness.

6. Stays informed of and adheres to FAA regulations and safety protocols relevant to the role.

7. Maintains proficiency in fundamental flight maneuvers and emergency procedures in line with military technical publications.

8. Briefs flight crew and non-crew members on operational and emergency protocols.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Engages in continuous study and personal development to enhance skills necessary for aircraft operation.

2. Operates vehicles as required in the performance of duties.

3. Completes necessary documentation for aircraft and engine performance data accurately.

4. Participates in instrument flight simulator training as mandated.

5. May be required to conduct profile flights involving NVG, PNVS, and tactical maneuvers.

Qualifications:

1. Proven ability to operate, navigate, and land aircraft in the designated class.

2. Must possess a valid FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with rotorcraft and instrument ratings.

3. Holds a valid FAA Instrument rating for the specified aircraft class.

4. Requires a minimum of 1,000 hours as pilot in command in the relevant aircraft class, with specific experience in helicopters.

Educational Background:

1. High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.

2. Completion of AMOC II is essential for this position.

Mathematical Skills:

1. Proficient in basic arithmetic operations and performance calculations.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must possess a valid FAA or military Class II Medical Certificate and undergo regular flight physicals.
