Position Overview:

This role involves performing mammography procedures with a level of technical expertise that does not require constant oversight. You will be responsible for a range of technical tasks that necessitate independent judgment, especially in challenging situations. Your primary objective will be to obtain high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography images while adhering to MQSA and DSHS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold hospital and departmental policies and procedures relevant to the radiology sector.
  • Implement imaging guidelines and standards in alignment with current best practices.
  • Engage in patient care activities, including:
    • Following daily directives from supervisors and adapting to changes as required.
    • Reviewing mammography orders to ensure accuracy and addressing any specific patient needs.
    • Verifying patient identity for each procedure using established identification protocols.
    • Maintaining professional communication with patients, striving to exceed their expectations.
    • Providing instructions and education to patients and their families regarding upcoming examinations when necessary.
    • Ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning of all assigned equipment and examination areas.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Successful completion of an accredited radiology program that meets ARRT standards.
  • Completion of an approved MQSA training course with certification.
  • At least one year of experience in clinical radiology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of multiple registries is advantageous.
  • Two years of experience in a mammography department setting.
  • One year of experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist.
