POSITION SUMMARY

This role is pivotal in overseeing team members within the production stream, ensuring the quality and safety of food items, maintaining a secure environment for all personnel, and upholding cleanliness standards. The Operations Supervisor will work closely with various departments including Production, Quality Assurance, Safety, Maintenance, and Human Resources, acting as a senior leader across these teams. This position is integral in engaging in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, providing actionable solutions to enhance operational outcomes. The supervisor will maximize team potential through ongoing training, mentorship, and consistent feedback.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production Management: Direct the activities of team members in converting raw materials into high-quality products efficiently and safely.
  • Change Implementation: Drive necessary changes in processes, equipment, and systems to meet production goals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the Value Stream Team to develop and execute strategies that enhance reliability and performance.
  • Team Development: Mentor team members to enhance their skills and accountability in safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Resource Coordination: Manage materials and staffing to ensure seamless production operations.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Ensure adherence to established protocols through effective communication and reinforcement.
  • Safety Advocacy: Promote a culture of safety by implementing programs and encouraging safe practices among team members.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the production of safe, high-quality products in line with company standards.
  • Team Relations: Address team member concerns and support their development through effective hiring and training practices.
  • Engagement Facilitation: Foster a high level of team engagement and collaboration.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish and monitor performance metrics, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Utilize technical resources for maintenance and troubleshooting to achieve optimal performance.
  • Incident Management: Identify risks and lead resolution efforts for operational challenges.
  • Strategic Participation: Contribute to the implementation of strategies aimed at improving production efficiency.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to fill vacancies and ensure effective onboarding of new team members.
  • Career Development: Support team members in their professional growth and development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficient in mathematical analysis and interpretation.
  • Mechanical aptitude for identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining quality standards.
  • Problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing.
  • 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a high-speed production environment.
