POSITION SUMMARY
This role entails overseeing team members within the production line, ensuring the quality and safety of food items, maintaining a secure environment for staff, managing cleanliness in the production area, adhering to the production timeline, reducing waste, and enhancing operational efficiencies under the direction of the Value Stream Manager or Operations Manager. The supervisor will collaborate with various departments including Production, Quality Assurance, Safety, Maintenance, Warehouse, Sanitation, Human Resources, Finance, and IT, acting as a senior leader across these teams. This position actively participates in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, offering solutions to challenges and optimizing outcomes. The supervisor will maximize team member potential through continuous training, coaching, and regular feedback.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production Management: Oversee the activities of team members on a specific shift, ensuring efficient conversion of materials into high-quality products while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
- Change Implementation: Facilitate changes in processes, equipment, and organizational structure as necessary to meet production goals, utilizing a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Value Stream Team to develop and execute strategies that enhance reliability in the area of responsibility.
- Coaching and Development: Mentor team members to enhance their skills and leadership capabilities, fostering accountability in safety, quality, and team engagement.
- Operational Coordination: Manage resources, materials, and staffing to support production operations and transitions.
- Standard Work Enforcement: Ensure adherence to established procedures through effective communication and consistent reinforcement.
- Safety Assurance: Promote a culture of safety by implementing safety programs and maintaining a focus on safe practices among team members.
- Quality Control: Guarantee the continuous production of safe and high-quality products, advocating for ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives.
- Team Member Relations: Address team member concerns and oversee the hiring, training, and development processes, fostering a self-managed team environment.
- Engagement Promotion: Create an atmosphere that encourages high levels of team member engagement.
- Performance Measurement: Collaborate with management to set performance standards and goals, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Troubleshooting: Utilize technical resources for maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring optimal performance levels.
- Incident Management: Identify risks and lead resolution efforts for escalated issues, prioritizing resources effectively.
- Strategic Participation: Engage in the implementation of strategies aimed at improving line performance.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Partner with Talent Acquisition to fill vacancies and ensure effective onboarding of new team members.
- Team Development: Support team members in their development plans, aiding in their growth and career advancement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidates should have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Food Manufacturing.
- 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a bakery setting with high-speed equipment.
