Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, coordinate, and take responsibility for significant administrative and clinical functions, including grants and contracts, budget management, financial analysis, data processing operations, and human resources oversight for multiple departments or large divisions, with direct supervision of Senior Administrators and other key leadership roles.
- Manage a specific service line, health system partnership, and/or academic oversight, including comprehensive budget accountability.
- Implement organizational policies and procedures within the department, holding final decision-making authority on complex, precedent-setting situations in collaboration with the Department Chair.
- Collaborate with Department Chairs within the service line to formulate, administer, and monitor capital equipment, operational, and personnel budgets.
- Devise strategies to ensure annual increases in clinical revenue while controlling expenses.
- Work with Department Chairs to set goals and objectives for the department(s) and track progress towards their achievement.
- Design and execute various clinical and administrative programs to enhance employee skills and improve the effectiveness of existing clinical services.
- Develop new initiatives to promote departmental growth and adapt to evolving service demands.
- Act as a liaison between management and other departments regarding clinical activities and issues.
- Ensure compliance with required record-keeping standards.
- Establish and implement formal training and development programs for staff.
- Perform related responsibilities as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's degree, preferably in business, finance, or a related scientific field, accompanied by 10 years of professional business or management experience, including experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Prior supervisory experience is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an academic medical center environment with matrixed reporting structures, shared services models, and physician practice management is highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal abilities are required.
- Attention to detail and proficiency in computer software are necessary for developing and presenting critical, confidential information.
- Exceptional integrity, intelligence, maturity, and a proven track record in navigating complex organizational environments are essential.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting, make sound judgments, handle confidential information, and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills is crucial.
