Job Summary

The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Grant Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our research management team, you will be responsible for managing all phases of research grant and contract administration, including developing grant submissions, performing budget forecasting, and monitoring fund statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of research grant and contract administration, including developing grant submissions, performing budget forecasting, and monitoring fund statements.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators to develop grant submissions and ensure compliance with institutional, Federal, private, and industrial guidelines, terms, and conditions.
  • Perform funding analyses, including forecasting anticipated deficits/surpluses, and implement systems to monitor and analyze all aspects of grant management.
  • Reconcile monthly fund statements and coordinate with Accounts Payable, Research Finance, Payroll, Contracting, and other departments as needed for identification of charges and resolution of errors.
  • Develop quarterly status reports of funds within portfolio and present to leadership team.
  • Meet with physicians/PIs frequently or as needed to review fund statements and recommend and implement strategies for the resolution of financial overruns.
  • Responsible for the timely closeout of expired projects and perform final review for sponsor compliance prior to project termination.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required or at least 3 years of direct grant management experience, post and pre-award.
  • Master's Degree and CRA certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of directly related research management experience or hospital/research sponsored setting.
  • Experience with managing large and complex research portfolios.
