Job Summary:

The National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL) at Boston University is seeking a highly skilled Grants and Contracts Manager to provide technical assistance and administrative support to NEIDL Investigators with contract proposals from external funding agencies. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Contracts Management to support the contract proposal process, review and assess sponsor requirements, and ensure compliance with university policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical assistance and administrative support to NEIDL Investigators with contract proposals from external funding agencies.
  2. Work with the Director of Contracts Management to review and assess sponsor requirements, and ensure compliance with university policies.
  3. Assist with the development of contract proposals, including budget development and ensuring package and delivery requirements are met.
  4. Obtain and prepare required compliance forms and documents for internal approvals.
  5. Provide overall contract/project management support for active NEIDL contracts and grants.
  6. Monitor financial performance of contracts and grants, and assist with budget and expense management.
  7. Collaborate with other centers within and external to the NEIDL to support the review process of pricing structures and billing coordination.
  8. Track pending proposals and active awards, and advise administrative team and NEIDL investigators on overall timelines.

Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor's degree is required, with 5-8 years of experience in grants and contract management.
  2. Maintains knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply sponsor, institutional, and departmental policies.
  3. Ability to triage high-volume and complex transactions and support colleagues in a deadline-driven environment.
  4. Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, and cooperative agreements.
  5. Strong organizational and communication skills, with a custom service focus.

Working Conditions:

This position is contingent upon strict adherence to all applicable safety and security rules, procedures, and protocols, as well as required training regimens. The successful candidate will be required to maintain all applicable clearances and licenses and to disclose any changes in circumstances that could compromise access to the facility.
