About the Role

Salem Media Group is seeking a highly motivated sales professional to join our growing on-air and digital sales team as a Media Sales Strategist. This exceptional opportunity is designed for a sales professional who can sell and manage our multi-media marketing solutions, including radio, digital, and event sales, to local small and medium-sized businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospecting and Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with local and regional businesses, reaching decision-makers, setting meetings, analyzing client needs, and creating and delivering compelling and strategic advertising presentations that address client objectives.
  • Market Research and Trends: Stay current on all local digital marketing trends and opportunities, researching and analyzing market data to inform sales strategies.
  • Proposal Development and Presentation: Create and present strategic marketing proposals for key accounts and new business decision-makers, accurately projecting revenues and meeting or exceeding monthly budgets for all product lines.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions to meet those needs.
Requirements
  • Sales Experience: A demonstrated track record of exceeding sales goals in both on-air and online media.
  • Digital Product Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of digital products and how they are positioned and sold in the marketplace.
  • Marketing Expertise: A demonstrated understanding of and success in selling Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Target Display, OTT/CTV, social media, Email Marketing, Chat, Website Development, and other digital marketing solutions.
  • Business Acumen: A demonstrated ability to understand categories of businesses to prospect for new clients and develop business marketing strategies for local and regional clients.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present multi-varied solutions to groups of people as needed.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft business software (MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and ability to quickly learn to utilize new software applications for prospecting and market insights.
