Job Summary

Stanford University is seeking a highly skilled Life Science Research Professional 2 to join our team in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting complex experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new research protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research projects and contribute to the development of new research protocols.
  • Design and conduct experiments to gather data for major research projects.
  • Interpret and analyze results, making recommendations for future research directions.
  • Develop and implement new research protocols as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across different faculties or schools.
  • Stay up-to-date with new procedures and related research, applying this knowledge to ongoing research and development of new protocols.
  • Contribute to the preparation of papers for publication and present ongoing work to colleagues and/or academic conferences.
  • Oversee supply and equipment budgets and ensure lab compliance with regulations and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field and two years of relevant work experience; or Master's degree in a related scientific field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of scientific principles and general computer skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment, with the ability to maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance and excellent organizational skills.
Working Conditions

This position may require working in close proximity to blood-borne pathogens, working with animals, and performing tasks that require the use of personal protective equipment. The employee must be able to work in an environment where hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases are present.
