Job Summary

Stanford University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Life Science Research Professional 2 to join our research team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting complex experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new research protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research projects, including designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results.
  • Collaborate with the principal investigator and other team members to develop and implement research plans.
  • Develop and maintain complex laboratory protocols, including cell culture, molecular biology, and flow cytometry.
  • Contribute to the preparation of papers for publication and present research findings at academic conferences.
  • Supervise and train junior staff members and students as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field, such as biology, bioengineering, genetics, or molecular biology.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a research laboratory setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, cloning, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Experience with mammalian tissue culture techniques and high-throughput sequencing methods.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced research environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The position may require working with hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases, and the employee must be willing to wear personal protective equipment as needed.
