Position Overview:

The Enrollment Services Program Coordinator plays a vital role in the effective management of transfer transcript processing for all students at Tacoma Community College. This position is integral in evaluating and processing applications for degrees and certificates, managing student data for graduation ceremonies, and serving as a knowledgeable resource for faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transcript Management: Oversee the processing of incoming transcripts from various institutions, ensuring accurate assessment of transfer credit eligibility.
  2. Record Maintenance: Keep precise records of degree, certificate, and high school diploma applications, including documentation of any withdrawn applications for future reference.
  3. Transcript Review: Conduct thorough reviews of TCC transcripts to identify course repeats and non-college level courses, processing them as necessary.
  4. Degree Requirement Evaluation: Assess transfer credits to ensure they meet graduation requirements, calculating the overall Degree GPA that includes both TCC and transfer credits.
  5. Compliance Interpretation: Analyze and interpret state degree requirements to guarantee accuracy in determining student eligibility for degrees and certificates.
  6. Equivalency Guide Maintenance: Update and maintain transfer equivalency rules for public access.
  7. Advisement Report Management: Create exceptions and substitutions within Academic Advisement Reports to track degree requirements, effectively communicating with students and staff regarding any missing graduation criteria.
  8. Customer Engagement: Respond to inquiries via departmental communication channels and meet with students to address transfer and graduation questions.
  9. Graduation Processing: Verify if graduation requirements are fulfilled, posting degrees for eligible students and guiding those who need assistance with the petition process.
  10. Application Processing: Manage the receipt and processing of degree and certificate applications, supporting the organization of graduation ceremonies.
  11. Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a resource for the Curriculum Committee, providing insights on course requirement changes and state-wide policies related to degree requirements and transfer credits.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an Associate's degree accompanied by two years of relevant professional experience. Experience working with diverse populations and in educational or social service settings is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
