Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Central Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Iowa Orthopaedic Center PC. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to ensure efficient use of physician time
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage patient records and maintain accurate and up-to-date information
  • Collaborate with the triage nurse to ensure proper routing and handling of calls within scope of practice
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Work closely with the clinical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a scheduling or patient access role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include sitting for extended periods, using a computer terminal, and communicating with patients and staff via phone and in person. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
