Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Front Desk Manager to join our team at Courtyard Detroit Downtown. As a key member of our Front Office team, you will be responsible for leading and assisting with the successful completion of daily shift requirements, ensuring guest and employee satisfaction, and achieving the operating budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Management of Front Desk Team: Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
  • Supporting Progress Toward Guest Services and Front Desk Goals: Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work; handle complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
  • Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service: Provide services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention; improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
  • Supporting Projects and Policies: Assist in the implementation of customer recognition/service programs, communicating and ensuring the process; assist in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the guest services, front desk, or related professional area. OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; no work experience required.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform all duties at the Front Desk as necessary; understand the functions of the Bell Staff, Switchboard and Concierge/Guest Services operations.
