The Autonomous Driving division at MBRDNA is tasked with the creation and deployment of cutting-edge autonomous driving technologies in collaboration with partners in the U.S. and our colleagues in Germany. This encompasses both hardware and software systems.

The primary objective of this role is to lead and expand a technical team focused on developing algorithms and software in the domains of Mapping, Localization, Planning, and non-functional software for Mercedes-Benz vehicles operating at SAE levels 2-4. Significant contributions to the overall architecture and design of Mercedes-Benz vehicles are expected as part of the global MB R&D team, in coordination with peer groups in the U.S., India, and Germany.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Debug, maintain, and integrate systems into vehicle platforms.
  • Triage and address reported in-vehicle issues related to sensors, vehicle ECUs, communication systems, data logging equipment, software, and more.
  • Collaborate with vehicle dynamics teams to ensure proper integration and calibration of ADAS systems with vehicle control systems.
  • Resolve vehicle communication challenges, design solutions, and escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Engage in hands-on troubleshooting (including disassembly) of vehicles to identify root causes of reported issues.
  • Act as the primary responder for vehicle-related issues.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues associated with ADAS systems, ensuring dependable and precise operation.
  • Propose enhancements to mitigate recurring issues with the platform.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in ADAS development, vehicle dynamics, or related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing automotive bus systems and working on vehicles, demonstrating high proficiency in disassembling and assembling vehicle components.
  • Experience with vehicle integration topics, including ECU calibration, network communication, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • In-depth knowledge of ECU communication protocols and technologies (e.g., CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic systems in vehicles, including wiring, connectors, and harness design.
  • Proven experience with sensor technologies such as radar, LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (ECU flashing, IP/Ethernet, Linux command line) and excellent communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work weekend and/or evening shifts.
  • Ability to remain seated in a vehicle for extended periods and work at a desk on a computer.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience driving pre-production prototype vehicles.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and Linux operating systems.
  • Excellence in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Automotive Electronics installations.
  • Experience with advanced automotive bus analysis tools (e.g., Vector CANoe/CANalyzer).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for ADAS technologies.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

The starting salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on various factors, including job-related education, skills, experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is $111,500 - $139,500.
