Position Overview

As a Satellite Factory Integration & Test (I&T) Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing insights to government clients at satellite contractor facilities throughout the design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and launch phases. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing various contractor I&T activities, identifying and resolving technical challenges, and leading contractor efforts to ensure successful satellite delivery for on-orbit operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a dynamic team environment alongside government customer leads, satellite subsystem developers, and other experts in the field.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the Customer Program Office and the contractor team, providing comprehensive written daily and weekly status updates.
  • Identify, communicate, and lead the program team in addressing and resolving technical and programmatic challenges.
  • Review and evaluate contractor satellite assembly, integration, and testing plans and procedures.
  • Conduct test engineering and requirements flow-down assessments on all satellite-level test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Provide analytical support on satellite test results to ensure that the satellite design meets system requirements.
  • Perform spacecraft-level requirements satisfaction analysis and conduct Functional & Physical Configuration Audits (FCA/PCA).
  • Participate in Failure Review Boards (FRBs) to investigate and resolve anomalies through direct fact-finding, audits, inquiries, and investigations of processing, testing, or operational failures.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with interfaces and standards, or confirm that appropriate deviations/waivers are established.
  • Be prepared for potential 24/7 shift work as required.

Qualifications:

  • Typical education includes a Bachelor's degree with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree with 12 years of experience, or a PhD with 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering with a focus on integration and testing.
  • Experience in satellite development, manufacturing, and integration & testing.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including effective collaborative communication.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with multiple satellite programs and expertise in satellite System Engineering Integration and Testing.
  • Familiarity with early life-cycle satellite engineering activities, integration and testing, and Launch and Initialization (L&I) activities.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. This estimate reflects the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Compliance with customer site vaccination requirements is necessary when work is performed at a customer site.
