Overview:
Join Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, a premier manufacturer in the industrial lift truck sector, as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This role is pivotal in steering our Continuous Improvement Team at our Berea facility, ensuring operational excellence and innovation in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
As a leader in this position, you will:
1. Spearhead the design of mixed model production lines that are independent of mix and options, while ensuring optimal efficiency.
2. Guide the development of processes that maximize asset utilization, enhance ergonomic conditions for employees, and eliminate non-value-added activities beyond standard industry practices.
3. Provide mentorship and direction to both direct and indirect reports, focusing on performance management, employee relations, and professional development.
4. Play a crucial role in the Americas Division Manufacturing Transformation Program, overseeing project management and technical teams to implement significant automation initiatives.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is preferred, or an Associate's degree coupled with 7-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- A minimum of 7-10 years in a manufacturing environment or equivalent educational background.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of guiding teams.
2. In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
3. Exceptional analytical skills to address complex challenges.
4. Proficient in planning, organizing, and time management.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Comprehensive understanding of various manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, assembly techniques, time studies, automation, PLC, machine logic, and torque tooling.
