Position Summary:

The Metal Fabrication Specialist is tasked with the operation of the Press Brake machine and other related equipment, adhering to the established standards and protocols of the organization. This role involves meticulous planning, selection, layout, positioning, and alignment of dies within the machine's ram and bed to guarantee precise and efficient production.

Primary Duties:

  • Operate the Press Brake and associated machinery in compliance with company procedures.
  • Interpret and execute tasks based on technical schematics and blueprints.
  • Select and plan the appropriate tools and dies tailored to each specific project.
  • Accurately layout and align dies within the machine to ensure high precision.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Utilize manual measuring tools, such as micrometers, to verify that finished products meet required specifications.
  • Follow safety regulations and company policies diligently.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to enhance production efficiency.
  • Stay updated on the latest machining methods and industry best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fabrication Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the fabrication process, particularly the operational principles of the Press Brake and related machinery.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings to ascertain job requirements.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Strong ability to calculate dimensions, angles, and tolerances accurately.
  • Manual Tool Expertise: Skilled in the use of various manual tools, especially micrometers, for precise measurements and quality checks.
  • Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to ensure that all produced components meet the necessary specifications.
  • Safety Consciousness: Full awareness and compliance with safety standards to prevent workplace accidents.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Quick identification of issues within the machine or fabrication process, with effective resolution strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Capable of effectively discussing concerns, suggestions, or updates with team members and supervisors.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to new techniques or changes in company protocols.

Educational Background:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

A minimum of three years of experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a comparable role is preferred.

Certification in machine operation or a related field is advantageous.

Work Schedule:

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is essential.
  • Physical capability to stand most of the time, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Standard shifts are ten hours per day, with safety gear such as steel-toe boots and safety glasses required.
  • Work environment may not be climate-controlled.
