The Role

The Senior Child Protection Practitioner is responsible for supporting, supervising, and developing Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice. This role requires expertise in case practice and the supervision of child protection practitioners. The Senior Child Protection Practitioner will work collaboratively with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice, provide effective service delivery, and support other practitioners in the development of plans to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and supervise Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice and provide effective service delivery
  • Provide guidance and support to other practitioners in the development of plans
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have significant practical experience in child protection and the ability to demonstrate expertise in case practice and supervision. A Bachelor or Masters of Social Work or equivalent is required, as well as 2 years of relevant social work experience. A current and valid professional membership is also necessary. A valid driver's licence is required, and the ability to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card upon relocating to Victoria is essential.
