The Role

The Senior Child Protection Practitioner is a key position within the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, responsible for supporting and supervising Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice. This role requires significant practical experience and the ability to demonstrate expertise through case practice and supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and supervise Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice
  • Develop and implement effective case plans to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice and provide effective service delivery
  • Provide guidance and support to other practitioners in the development of plans to bring about positive change
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant social work experience
  • Current and valid professional membership
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card upon relocating to Victoria
