About the Role

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Child Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our child protection team, you will be responsible for receiving and assessing reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake investigations and develop plans to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people.
  • Develop and implement case plans to promote the achievement of objectives within specified timeframes.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and stakeholders to ensure effective case management and outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on child protection practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in child protection or a related field.
  • A current and valid professional membership in a relevant association.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card.
