Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays at Children's Hospital of Orange County. Working independently under the guidance of directors, this position performs assay and equipment validation, authors standard operating procedures, and develops training and competency documents to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience
  • Preferred: Two (2) to five (5) years of Clinical Laboratory experience
  • Bachelor degree - Biological Science
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively
  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area

Work Environment

This role requires a sedentary work environment with occasional lifting and carrying of objects. The physical activity requirements include bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use, pinching, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, talking, tasting, twisting, walking, and wrist position deviation.
