We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Mercy Medical Center, a Dignity Health member. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for providing laboratory testing to inpatients and outpatients, ensuring quality control and instrument maintenance, and performing related record keeping and result reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic, bacteriologic, and immunologic tests and procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform tests and procedures based on area, being aware of differences and making adjustments to testing procedures due to the patient's age, body chemistry, sex or disorder that may cause differences in normal range results.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the laboratory computer system, including entering of patient demographics, specimen order entry, result collation, result certification, result inquiry, and report distribution.
- Perform STAT and ASAP testing within the established turnaround times.
- Must possess and maintain a current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license with the state of California.
- Computer literate.
- Preferred: One (1) year experience in an acute care facility.
