At CommonSpirit Health, we are committed to delivering high-quality patient care and advancing the field of clinical laboratory science. We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize independent judgment to test patient samples through various chemical, microscopic, serological, and bacteriologic techniques.
- Assist in the maintenance of appropriate policies, procedures, and equipment to ensure optimal laboratory operations.
- Operate and maintain automated analyzers, and maintain an adequate inventory of departmental supplies.
- Monitor quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement indicators in the section of primary responsibility.
- Conduct orientation and training of new personnel, and monitor performance of appropriate personnel in the section of primary responsibility.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth by maintaining knowledge of lab-specific policies and procedures, and taking advantage of available educational opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested in a professional manner.
- Recent clinical laboratory experience.
- Bachelor's degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (must possess valid CA CLS license prior to start date of position).
- Preferred requirements: experience in an acute care hospital, advanced degree in a related field, registration with a national professional organization (AABB, ASCP, NCA), and knowledge of medical terminology.
