Role Responsibilities

The Mathematics Instructor plays a crucial role in delivering tailored mathematical instruction to students utilizing the Mathnasium Method. This position emphasizes exceptional customer service and a personalized approach to meet each student's unique needs. Instructors are instrumental in fostering students' confidence and self-worth through engaging interactions and carefully chosen resources.

Qualifications
  • A genuine passion for mathematics and a commitment to student engagement. Proficiency in math at least through Algebra 1 is required, with a preference for candidates who can demonstrate higher-level math skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate students while creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere.
  • A willingness to learn and undergo training, with a requirement of 15-20 hours of training within the first month of employment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, providing support to various students on different topics while documenting their progress.
  • Professional demeanor and effective communication skills, ensuring positive interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 6-10 hours across at least two shifts during the week and weekends, with potential for additional hours.
  • This is an on-site position; remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the Mathnasium Method and instructional frameworks.
  • Maintain consistent availability for work and communicate this effectively.
  • Strive for continuous improvement as an instructor.
  • Demonstrate retention of training materials and participate in staff meetings.
  • Teach in a manner that resonates with each student’s understanding.
  • Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to foster student confidence.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and maintain a clean and organized center environment.
Working Hours

Instructional hours typically include:

  • Monday - Thursday from 3 PM - 8 PM
  • Saturday from 10 AM - 2 PM (some locations)
  • Sunday from 1 PM - 6 PM

Team meetings are generally held every 4-6 weeks. Additional special events may require flexibility in scheduling. All candidates must complete a math literacy assessment to verify proficiency and undergo a background check.
