Position Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to actively seek out new residential mortgage clients while fostering and nurturing a robust network of referral sources. A Loan Officer is tasked with evaluating a borrower's financial and credit profile to assess creditworthiness and the likelihood of successful repayment efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate personal sales efforts by reaching out to potential clients.
  • Establish and sustain referral networks.
  • Dedicate a minimum of several hours weekly to outside sales activities.
  • Conduct client meetings in various locations, ensuring convenience for the client.
  • Engage with clients face-to-face to promote mortgage loan products.
  • Utilize phone, mail, and email as supplementary communication methods.
  • Gather credit data and necessary documentation for the loan application process.
  • Perform in-person outreach to real estate professionals, financial advisors, and other potential referral sources to generate leads.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional initiatives to support personal sales.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with realtors, builders, and financial institutions to create new lending opportunities.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of PRMI products to provide clients with suitable mortgage solutions.
  • Review application details and request additional documentation as needed based on investor guidelines.
  • Exercise independent judgment in advancing the business objectives of PRMI while prioritizing customer interests.
  • Complete significant assignments that impact the operations of the employer or its clients, including:
    • Collecting and analyzing customer financial information.
    • Evaluating applicant data, credit, and property value.
    • Identifying financial products that align with customer needs.
    • Advising clients on the pros and cons of available financial options.
    • Marketing and promoting the employer's financial offerings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and complete required continuing education.
  • Provide origination services within the state of licensure.
  • Foster excellent relationships with referral clients to create new mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Coordinate with clients, internal support staff, and external service providers to ensure timely closings.
Qualifications
  • At least two years of sales experience in the mortgage sector.
  • Understanding of mortgage processes, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Skilled in presenting complex financial information clearly.
  • Preferred established contacts within the real estate and mortgage sectors.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Employees must communicate effectively, utilize a computer, adhere to a work schedule, and perform efficiently in an office environment. Compliance with mortgage and fair lending laws, as well as PRMI policies, is mandatory. Extended hours may be necessary.
